A destination for equestrians and great chefs alike ...
The Farmhouse epitomizes all that is good and true of Kentucky. From its honorable beginnings at the turn of the last century as a caretaker's cottage for the original Walnut Hall Farm, it served for generations to house the families of those who cared for the land and horses. In 2007 the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation lovingly restored it, creating a casual and elegant locale to dine and entertain.
The Farmhouse includes a kitchen designed with catering in mind, two dining rooms, and a beautifully appointed sitting room. The landscaped grounds may be lit for alfresco entertaining day or night, and can be tented to provide seated dining for up to 200 people.
James Beard Foundation
The James Beard Foundation found the Farmhouse so charming they created a James Beard Foundation Celebrity Chef dinner series here during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™.
Sixteen Kentucky chefs were paired with 32 nationally-renowned James Beard chefs to create sixteen evenings of unforgettable culinary experiences, with five course meals and wine pairings. The meals featured the regional specialties of the chefs who used sustainably-grown Kentucky Proud products. All proceeds from the dinner series benefited the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, the James Beard Foundation and the World Equestrian Games Foundation.
