The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is honored to be a beneficiary of the 2022 Rood & Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix on Saturday, July 30th during Hats Off to Kentucky’s Horse Industry Day!

The 2022 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event lived up to its reputation as the “Best Weekend All Year” this past April 28-May 1.  The weather could not have been better, both the 4* and 5* competitions were fierce, and fans flooded the event after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.

Winter at the Park

Guests often ask what the horses do during the “off season” at the Kentucky Horse Park. With daily shows and the hustle and bustle of the tourist season, the resident horses enjoy a slower pace during the winter months.

Sidney Barnett has been named the new Volunteer, Outreach, & Education Program Director for the Kentucky Horse Park. Originally from Frankfort, Kentucky, Sidney studied at the University of Kentucky majoring in Equine Science and Communications.

The 19th Annual Southern Lights Stroll & 5K returned to the Kentucky Horse Park on November 20, 2021. The holiday spirit was on high after taking the previous year off due to Covid-19. Runners and strollers alike did not miss a step, and the Southern Lights Stroll welcomed one of its largest crowds ever with over 1,900 runners and walkers.

Since its inception in 2000, the Kentucky Horse Park Volunteer Program has served as an invaluable resource to the Park.  Day-to-day operation of the Park is only made possible through the thousands of hours KHP volunteers donate on an annual basis.  Annie Martin has spearheaded the program as the Kentucky Horse Park’s Volunteer and Outreach Manager since 2016.
