Since its inception in 2000, the Kentucky Horse Park Volunteer Program has served as an invaluable resource to the Park.  Day-to-day operation of the Park is only made possible through the thousands of hours KHP volunteers donate on an annual basis.  Annie Martin has spearheaded the program as the Kentucky Horse Park’s Volunteer and Outreach Manager since 2016.   This fall she will be leaving the Park for another opportunity within the equine industry and will be deeply missed.

“I have absolutely loved the relationships I’ve formed with both volunteers and interns over the last five years.” states Annie.  She continues, “The environment at the KHP is unlike any other. The staff and volunteers support, encourage, and push one another to offer guests an amazing experience and I am so proud to have been a part of the team.”

The Kentucky Horse Park volunteers celebrated the end of the official 2021 tourist season and honored Annie with a trail ride and reception on October 7.  “The Kentucky Horse Park won’t be the same without Annie.  Whether it was Breyerfest, Kentucky Three-Day, or Hats Off Day her smile, enthusiasm, and friendly welcome at each event made the task at hand more enjoyable and fun,” shared volunteer, Lori Hindenlang.

The work of the Volunteer Program will continue as the newest Volunteer & Outreach Manager will be named soon-stay tuned!
