It’s summertime, and the Kentucky Horse Park is bursting with activity! Not only are tourists and equestrians enjoying the Park, but many families and health enthusiasts are too thanks to The Kentucky Horse Park’s Run/Walk Club presented by the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.  “The Kentucky Horse Park Run/Walk Club is a great opportunity for both locals and out of towners to explore the Park. We’ve had a terrific response to the return of the event in 2021, and I think most people are just excited to get out with friends and family to exercise!” shares Annie Martin, KHP Volunteer and Outreach Manager and event organizer.

The Kentucky Horse Park’s Run/Walk Club meets every Monday night through September 27 (with the exception of July 12, July 26, and September 6) from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Admission is free and guests enjoy the option of a designated 1.5 mile or 3-mile route throughout the historic grounds of the Park.  Hear what some of our guests say about the event!

The Run/Walk Club is a family outing that we look forward to every Monday. My children, age 8 and 3, absolutely love the animals and wildlife that can be viewed throughout the entire path. Just this season, we have observed a family of geese grow from babies into near grown geese. We watch horses and their babies run the pastures and turtles bask in the sun in the ponds. If you haven’t attended an event, I encourage you to do so! It will become a weekly event for your family…all while encouraging physical and mental exercise!

My wife and I both enjoy getting the exercise and fresh air at the Run/Walk Club on Mondays (weather permitting of course!). We like walking past the paddocks and seeing what horses are out.   It also gives us a good excuse to have a meal at a local restaurant, or the food truck at the Horse Park.
