The 19th Annual Southern Lights Stroll & 5K returned to the Kentucky Horse Park on November 20, 2021. The holiday spirit was on high after taking the previous year off due to Covid-19. Runners and strollers alike did not miss a step, and the Southern Lights Stroll welcomed one of its largest crowds ever with over 1,900 runners and walkers.

Since its inception in 2000, the Kentucky Horse Park Volunteer Program has served as an invaluable resource to the Park.  Day-to-day operation of the Park is only made possible through the thousands of hours KHP volunteers donate on an annual basis.  Annie Martin has spearheaded the program as the Kentucky Horse Park’s Volunteer and Outreach Manager since 2016.

Now in its 8th year, the Battle in the Saddle Celebrity Team Penning Event, held on September 3 in the Kentucky Horse Park Covered Arena, was an overwhelming success.  Presented by Mt. Brilliant Farm, this beloved event has become a tradition for equestrians and equestrian-enthusiasts from across the Bluegrass, and this year’s event was more thrilling than ever!

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is honored to be a beneficiary of the 2021 Rood & Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix on Saturday, July 31st during Hats Off to Kentucky’s Horse Industry Day!

It’s summertime, and the Kentucky Horse Park is bursting with activity! Not only are tourists and equestrians enjoying the Park, but many families and health enthusiasts are too thanks to The Kentucky Horse Park’s Run/Walk Club presented by the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation. 

The Kentucky Horse Park and the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation lost a very dear friend on May 21, 2021 when Tom Seidel passed away. A beloved fixture at the Kentucky Horse Park, Tom was not only a generous supporter of the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, but he was also one of the Park’s most committed and loyal volunteers.

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation hosted a trail ride open to all riders and disciplines on Saturday, May 8 at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Who doesn’t love the sight of horses at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park? But the next time you walk around the Park, look closely and you may see a flash of blue and the trill of a song. The Park has long been a haven for a variety of wildlife and bluebirds are one of the flashier ones to come your way.

The Kentucky Horse Park Maintenance team has been busy this winter preparing the Park for the spring season. 

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is excited to announce that the bronze memorial of champion pacer, Staying Together is complete and has been installed at the Hall of Champions’ Memorial Walk.
